In 2012 Chomon House resident Gary Robinson became a ordained as Jodo Shinshu Buddhist priest and given the title and name Reverend Daichi by the Nishi Hongwanji organization in Kyoto, Japan. Following this, Chomon House was given the honor of organizing the 17th biennial European Shin Buddhist Conference. To coincide with this significant event Chomon House became designated as the national H.Q. of the Shin Buddhist Fellowship UK.
