The Threefold Refuge Junari - Tan (Short) i.e.6 Nembutsu's and Eko mp3
Sambutsuge Shoshinge
Jusige Eko
The running order of a Jodo Shinshu Amida Buddha Service
Following the reciting The Threefold Refuge, the central or main part of a Buddha Service usually comes in the form of the chanting of a Sutra. The Sambutsuge, Jusiege, Junari and Shoshinge are the primary sutras in Jodo Shinshu tradition. The traditional way to conclude a Buddha Service and express ones gratitude is to chant the Eko.

Juseige is a gatha comes from the Larger Sutra of Immeasurable Life.

In that sutra the Bodhisattva Dhamakara, who becomes Amida Buddha,
declares to the Buddha Lokesvararaja his intentions to become a Buddha himself.

The Three Sacred Vows, refer to Dharmakara's pledge to:

1. Establish the most incomparable Vow in the world

2. Become a great provider and save the poor and suffering

3. Attain Buddhahood and have his Name heard throughout the ten quarters of the universe.

PURE LAND NOTES Since 2008, Chomon House has published a widely (world-widely!) distributed quarterly Shin Buddhist journal called Pure Land Notes. Due not in the least to the consistancy and continuity of its engagement in the transmition and indeed introduction of Shin Buddhism to the UK in around 1977, PLN has evolved to become a meeting place for those unable to attend our Thursday night 'core-group' gatherings at Chomon House. Those that subscribe to the journal represent the vast majority of the membership of the SBFUK. Please click/tap here >purelandnotes.com< or on the links above and below for details.

In 2012 Chomon House resident Gary Robinson became a ordained as Jodo Shinshu Buddhist priest and given the title and name Reverend Daich by the Nishi Hongwanji organization in Kyoto, Japan. Following this, Chomon House was given the honour of organising the 17th biennial European Shin Buddhist Conference. To coincide with this significent event Chomon House became designated as the national H.Q. of the Shin Buddhist Fellowship UK.
